WOW!  I can't believe it's been so long since I have blogged!  I figured I'd star off the new year with a new one and hopefully I will stay on track and get one up at least every couple of weeks.  I think I will use this blog as a "catch up" one on the soaps and soap movement because so much has been going on lately with the soap opera genre that I feel I need to get it all out!  

We Love Soaps is counting down the Top 25 Biggest Blunders in Daytime Soap Opera History and number 16 brought up a name that I am not fond of at all.  So I think this is a perfect time for me to blog about Christopher Goutman...the man who totally destroyed our beloved As The World Turns.  Just in case some of you don't know who Goutman is he was the Executive Producer of ATWT for many years.

As you all know I am a HUGE fan of "The Soaps".  I have watched them since I was a little girl.  I have always followed the CBS soaps Guiding Light, The Young And The Restless, The Bold And The Beautiful, and of course my all time favorite As The World Turns.  Within the last few years I have tried to watch ALL the soaps showing my support because it seems that the genre is slowly beginning to fade out.  But why?  Why is such a powerful genre as the soap opera dying a slow death?  Are the fans just not watching anymore?

Yes, I guess you can say that I have been 'Byrned'.  What does that mean?  Let me explain.  For those of you that haven't figured it out yet, my name is Turbo, a nickname that was given to me by Martha Byrne.  I have been lucky enough to get to know this amazing woman and it happened in a very unique way.  Some say social networking is no good, nothing but trouble, a waste of time.  My story will prove otherwise.
